  1. My husband and I enjoyed a number of trips to Oregon when we lived in California. It was lovely--even the night we slept in our car because we had no reservations and there was nothing available. Also, it was late and we were running out of gas!! We slept in a motel parking lot. This was after having dinner at the lovely Benbow Inn. Fortunately, we had a large enough car (and were young enough) to get through the night just fine.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  8. Oh, Cathy... that is just a magnificent rock! I have never been to Oregon, but I've always wanted to go. One of my college professors had a place there, and she always talked about how gorgeous Oregon is. Also, I do genealogy research, and one of my ancestor's brothers was the first governor of the Oregon Territory. One of his descendants and I met online, and she came and spent a week with us one year. She had a grandfather who was a lighthouse keeper off the coast of Washington. So I became intrigued with that area after seeing pictures and reading and hearing all about it. And this just makes me want to see it more. Thanks for sharing...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

One year we camped in a yurt at a state park just outside Astoria - we walked those beaches every day!

  20. The Oregon Coast is stunning. I have a photo that I took several years ago, when I visited Oregon. that still hangs along in my hallway with all my family photos. growing-up in Miami the Atlantic coast line is just so blah compared to the west coast.

P.S. that was an exciting National Championship game.
