This post started great
but within minutes went straight downhill.
I made little red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting
and decorated them with teensy red and pink hearts
and heart shaped Junior Mints.
I took my first picture
and decided to move the pan an inch or two
to get a better shot.
So much for that idea!
Despite my disaster I'm joining the group today for Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum. I hope you will come by for a visit. You will find good friends and mighty good recipes.
Oh Cathy, oh no!! But, we all know they will taste great and they did look so nice in the first photo. Wish I could enjoy one with you.
ReplyDeleteI bet they tasted really good!!!! Cannot let a great cupcake go to waste. :)

I get the picture (gorgeous), now eat those fallen beauties!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
How cute!! I love the shape of your muffin tin!
ReplyDeleteIt still worked. Just don't move it. :) Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI've had that happen! But these are still the most gorgeous cupcakes of all time.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what happened to my carrot cake cupcakes in their carrier! It's a shame, yours were beautiful; But I'm sure they still tasted phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteI love how you shared your whoops moment. It actually made me smile. I'm sure they still tasted great!
ReplyDeleteOh, don't ya just hate it when that happens! But of course you get to eat all of the damaged ones... or is that just me:@) Very pretty Cathy, I'm sure everyone loved them!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a nickel for every time I have done something like that!!! They were darling just the same Cathy! I bet they tasted wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful! Loved your dainty heart sprinkles. I bet the fall didn't deter anyone form enjoying them:)
ReplyDeleteOh no! They look really good though!
ReplyDeleteyou made me smile... thank you....
ReplyDeleteYum and they are cute even on their sides! :))
ReplyDeleteI'd eat them anyway :) I love the cupcake pan... they're so tall!
ReplyDeleteSo sad! They are beautiful either way! :)
ReplyDeleteI know that had to be disappointing. Hope you enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteOoh!! I have my 50th birthday cake like that - 3 lucious layers of lemon and raspberry and my husband toppled it! It still tasted great and we had to take photos and scrapbook the event.
ReplyDeleteWhen that happens you have to eat all the messed up ones. That's the rule.
ReplyDeleteBy the way....heart shape Junior Mints??? Oh my. I have not heard or seen these fabulous things!
oh know! i'm so sorry, it's still beautiful in my book, and looks absolutely tasty!
ReplyDeleteThey look wonderful! I volunteer to eat the ones that crashed!
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting cup cake pan. Tell me.
Cathy, what a fun post this is and we can all relate to it. I laughed and even my teenage son came to check out why I was laughing! I am sure your weren't laughing. They do look really cute and good. Joni
ReplyDeleteThese look gorgeous. Oh, you must have wanted to cry. All that hard work. Well, at least, you got a good picture..lol
ReplyDeleteI love the heart-shaped Junior Mints. I have not seen those before.
Gasp - oh no!!! Sigh... mishaps happen to the best of us. What can you do. :/
ReplyDelete:)

I feel your pain! I made adorable ice cream cone cupcakes. Charlie, the springer spaniel, thought they were delicious when I moved them :) Yours were beautiful and I am certain still good to eat!
ReplyDeleteOMG that's hysterical. That would totally happen to me!
ReplyDeleteThe case of the topsy-turvy cupcakes. Similar things have happened to me too, but the cupcakes were still lovely and probably tasted terrific anyway.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You've been hanging around me too much, Cathy. Oh, how I can identify with this. I'm grinning from ear to ear.
ReplyDeleteAnd they were (were being the operative word, here) cute!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Oh my! More reason to lick up the remains. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and who cares if they're now upside down cuppies. Bet they taste yummy.
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting on Red Nomad Oz's recommendation. It was a treat to see those luscious cupcakes.

Wanna buy a duck
Oh no!! The cupcakes look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI bet they were still good to eat!!
Your first photo looked great, but I know that obsession with angle and lighting and getting the best shot. The second just proves you're human. They look beautiful and delicious right side up, or upside down!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm River, visiting via Red Nomad OZ.
ReplyDeleteLove the cupcakes! I'll be back.

ReplyDeleteI can feel your pain Cathy, but red velvet cupcakes seem perfect for Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! But I bet you had fun eating those fallen cupcakes:-)
ReplyDeleteIf you need someone to help you finish off the fallen soldiers, I'm your hound! They look awesome!
ReplyDeleteAt least they still taste good!!! Love what you did to the cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! I'd be more than happy to lick you counter clean for you! They still look absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteGosh! what a pity! Such lovely cupcakes and ruined! I don't mind eating the fallen ones too, they look so good!
ReplyDeleteBet they still tasted great smushed :) I can totally relate! They look amazing, and I'm sure taste even better! I didn't know they had heart shaped Jr Mints!
ReplyDeleteI've had that kind of thing happen before... at least you got a good picture before the earthquake! In the film business, they use things like mortite (mortician's putty) to stick things on... although with the silicon tray I don't know if even that would stick!!!). The cakes look wonderful as did your 'presentation' and the after-pictures made me smile with recognition!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hate it when that happens. They'd sure be great to eat anyway!
ReplyDeleteThey were beautiful while they lasted! I bet this still tasted amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have you share this recipe on my Sweet Tooth Friday linky. I hope to see you there.

ReplyDeleteOkay, just so you know - that's something I would do....
ReplyDeleteThey still taste good!
I flipped over here from Adventures in Australia,Red Nomand OZ. I think that might be longer than my blogs name. As a fellow blogging on cooking I know you have mad skills.
ReplyDeleteLOLOL!! I hope you put the camera away and dove right into those gorgeous cakes!!
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend!
Whoops! What cute cupcakes Cathy. At least you got pictures before they stumbled. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to console yourself with the good story that comes out of a mishap . . .
ReplyDeleteThese looks really delicious and so darned cute! I didn't even know there were heart shaped jr mints. I'm on the prowl for them now. :)
This kind of thing happens to me all the time. They looks beautiful and I'm sure they still tasted delicious which is the most important.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Cathy!
