I took a little break this week and went to the beach.
The weather was beautiful ~ Not that unusual for mid-winter.
A view of Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach,
one of Oregon's most famous landmarks.
I wasn't the only one that enjoyed a walk along the water's edge.
A view from my balcony at Seaside.
A favorite spot for surfers ~ but the waves were too small today.
I chose a large cracked Dungeness crab for dinner.
What's your favorite seafood?
F.Y.I - Bell Buoy ships their fantastic sea food. Check out their web site. You can have fresh Dungeness crab, smoked salmon and tuna, and razor clams delivered right to your door.
Cathy, the Oregon coastline is so beautiful. It has been quite3 a few years since I have been there, but the memory is as if I was there today. Just love it. So glad you 'got away' and to such a beautiful location.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that beautiful coastline one day! Haystack Rock is so impressive and the shot of the homes nested on the coast hillside as well. Gorgeous getaway!
ReplyDeleteI love all crustaceans and bi-valves!
Beautiful! I can't imagine having a view like that every day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite seafood is shrimp. But I'm not allowed to eat shellfish anymore, so my next favorite (and what I can eat) is North Atlantic Salmon. Love it!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Well I do love crab and lobster...but shrimp is more readily available....here, anyway :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots..I can image the glorious inspiration you got there!
O MY !! is that the view u see everyday??? O MY...thats heaven!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you feel all renewed and invigorated..or at least refreshed!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful scenery! Shrimp and lobster tail are my favorites. I don't think I remember what lobster tail tastes like it has been so long..
I could have had a lot of lobster tail with what I paid DELL today to semi fix my puter.
Isn't it sad that at barely 3 it is obsolete...:(
Thank goodness grandmas last a lot longer!
Anywhere along the Oregon Coast is my favorite place! Love your pictures. I am so ready for a trip to Oregon....wind....crab....shrimp...lobster..salmon..beautiful trees...Hmmm....I know that you had a great time. What could be better?
ReplyDeleteWow! such a lovely sight to wake to every morning...you are so lucky. I have to drive miles to get to the nearest decent beach! And fresh seafood everyday is heaven.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite seafood would have to be scallops or just plain old Pacific sockeye salmon. Glad you enjoyed your time at the beach.
ReplyDeleteI love going to the sea..Good for you..Cute place too!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo's. So beautiful and peaceful. Great view.
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell a lie - I love almost all seafood - lobster, crab (any kind), oysters, shrimp, fish......
Ah, now I'm hungry again.
Good for you! We plan to head to the coast soon for whale watching. I love Haystack Rock - Cannon Beach is my favorite place. Have fun in Seaside, they have so many tasty restaurants there.
ReplyDeleteCathy, thanks for taking us along...
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are marvelous and the scenery is spectacular. As for favorite seafood; I'd have to say Maryland Chesapeake Bay crab ~ used in a good crab cake.
What a gorgeous way to spend an afternoon! Your photography is amazing, Cathy.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite seafood is King Crab... but I'd be happy with just about any shellfish!
Cathy...my inlaws live in Longview, WA. I absolutely love the Seaside, OR area. We honeymooned in Astoria. What a great post :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
You lucky woman you!! What a beautiful getaway!! I would have to say shrimp with a spicy cocktail sauce!!
ReplyDeletei could sit and stare at those pictures all day, so pretty! what a nice day out!
ReplyDeleteThat surf spot can really get crankin'. My hubby(a surfer) and I looked at it when we were in Seaside for a conference once. He didn't go out...respecting the locals and their spot...but it was fun to see in the winter.
ReplyDeleteCathy, I had no idea Bell Buoy delivers. That's awesome! I love the beach in winter. Hubby and I have been discussing a getaway lately. Well, it's more me saying we need to get away.
ReplyDeleteI miss the coast. Gorgeous photos! I really love salmon and halibut.
