A Few Days at the Beach

I took a little break this week and went to the beach.
The weather was beautiful ~ Not that unusual for mid-winter.
A view of Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach,
one of Oregon's most famous landmarks.

I wasn't the only one that enjoyed a walk along the water's edge.

A view from my balcony at Seaside.
A favorite spot for surfers ~ but the waves were too small today.

I chose a large cracked Dungeness crab for dinner.
What's your favorite seafood?

F.Y.I  - Bell Buoy ships their fantastic sea food.  Check out their web site.  You can have fresh Dungeness crab, smoked salmon and tuna, and razor clams delivered right to your door.

  1. Cathy, the Oregon coastline is so beautiful. It has been quite3 a few years since I have been there, but the memory is as if I was there today. Just love it. So glad you 'got away' and to such a beautiful location.

  2. I would love to see that beautiful coastline one day! Haystack Rock is so impressive and the shot of the homes nested on the coast hillside as well. Gorgeous getaway!

I love all crustaceans and bi-valves!

  4. My favorite seafood is shrimp. But I'm not allowed to eat shellfish anymore, so my next favorite (and what I can eat) is North Atlantic Salmon. Love it!

    Sheila :-)

  7. Oh I hope you feel all renewed and invigorated..or at least refreshed!!
What beautiful scenery! Shrimp and lobster tail are my favorites. I don't think I remember what lobster tail tastes like it has been so long..

I could have had a lot of lobster tail with what I paid DELL today to semi fix my puter.
Isn't it sad that at barely 3 it is obsolete...:(
Thank goodness grandmas last a lot longer!

  10. My favourite seafood would have to be scallops or just plain old Pacific sockeye salmon. Glad you enjoyed your time at the beach.

  14. Cathy, thanks for taking us along...

Your photographs are marvelous and the scenery is spectacular. As for favorite seafood; I'd have to say Maryland Chesapeake Bay crab ~ used in a good crab cake.

  19. That surf spot can really get crankin'. My hubby(a surfer) and I looked at it when we were in Seaside for a conference once. He didn't go out...respecting the locals and their spot...but it was fun to see in the winter.
