Cheese Alert

If you are a regular Costco shopper like I am, you know that their cheese selection during the holiday season is great. I've tried many cheeses that I otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to try. When I saw this Vintage White Extra Sharp Cheddar from our own Tillamook Country Creamery I didn't hesitate a minute to put it into my shopping cart. I'm going back for more.

This award winning cheddar has been aged for 2 years, the longest of all Tillamook Creamery's cheddars. It's the sharpest of their cheddars and has a slightly crumbly texture. It is wonderful with wine and fruit and melts beautifully when heated. I made my favorite broiled tomato cheddar sammies today and when I tasted them made with this vintage white cheddar I couldn't wait to get to my computer to tell you about it. So grab your coat and get on over to Costco to get some of this marvelous cheese. You will be so happy you did.

  2. I'm planning to stop at Costco on my way back from the airport today- I'll look for some of the Tillamook.

What I found there and fell in love with, was Ford Farm's Wensleydale with Cranberries. The first couple of bites were new and different but I've gone back for more. I love the Ford Farm Coastal Cheddar too.

I'm so glad that we have Tillamook so close- you can never have too much cheese.

  3. Cathy, great cheese alert! I am an extra sharp cheddar addict. Unfortunately I don't have a Costco in my area, but I will keep my eyes out for this brand. Many thanks....

  4. I love Costco! We were just there. I did pick up some cheese, but not this one. I had not read your blog yet! Ugh. I so want to buy the new blender they are featuring. It is like $395! I want it so bad. I can not remember its name, but man it is awesome. My hubby thought so too.

  7. Thanks for the tip! I love Tillamook white cheddar! As my daughter and I always say, "I've never met a cheese I didn't like." If I can get myself to do another Costco shopping trip this season, I'll be picking this up. I also like to get a variety of cheeses from Trader Joe's and New Seasons.

  17. Just seeing the name Tilamook makes me miss the coast so much! I need an Oregon trip, the smell of the ocean, some good clam chowder. Sorry, I got side tracked, back to reality! Cathy I want to wish you and yours a very happy holiday!
