A treasure I brought home from Paris: Sea Salt with Black Truffles
A perfectly baked Idaho russet spud, no microwaving here, topped with sweet cream butter, sour cream and my Parisian treasure.
A simple, farm fresh fried egg and a slice of homemade bread. A sprinkle of "you know what" makes it sublime.
Artichokes, simply steamed, served with melted butter and lemon. Marinating and grilling are fun, but simple is where it's at.
You're so right, Cathy. Sometimes simple is best...although they are sprinkled with pure 'gold' :) How wonderful that sea salt must taste with the truffles!
ReplyDeleteSomething I have never tasted is anything with black truffles! I've heard so many things about them and they must be as savory as reported.
ReplyDeleteI agree too, baked potatoes are made to be BAKED not microwaved!!
Wow, what a find with that salt!
ReplyDeleteI always prefer the simple, the pure and the classic.
ReplyDeleteI remember that!!!!Great shots..Ooohhh Paris~:)
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures! I have never had truffles...someday, it will be a treat. Great post, Cathy.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right....simple can't be beat. My Mom and I spent three weeks in Italy, 5 years ago. We were there during truffles season, and EVERYTHING had truffles in it. I almost hate to admit it, but I wasn't a big fan. I must try again.
ReplyDeleteI so envy you that salt. I love how you've chosen to use it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treat! And with every simple dish a memory of Paris. That's my kind of souvenir.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photography - your food just jumps off of the plate. I brought back fleur de sell from France also, but (pout pout) I didn't see any with truffles in it. You lucky girl. But we did bring back a tiny truffle in a jar and some truffle oil.
ReplyDeleteThank for your not microwaving the potato. In my opinion it ruins it.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're eating well!
ReplyDeleteNow I will be looking for this salt when I travel to Paris. Yummm!
ReplyDeleteMy friend has been raving about this salt and I am dying to try this out!
ReplyDeleteThat looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to be back in blogland! Another simple pleasure that Hell makes difficult..:)
